I know the feeling. One of the first stories I wrote was a multi chapter kink fic, and I thought it was the beginning and end of thoughtful BDSM story telling. It is, in fact, a badly written garbage fire. There's a part of me that cringes when I think about all the times I proudly recced that thing -- I mean, I used to shove that thing out there like I thought it was going to win me a major literary award or something.
