#3: fashion showcase palace held by a human trafficking ringleader (they take pride in choosing/showcasing the most beautiful), populated by humanoid and aesthetically pleasing shadows (parvati and narcissus and etc). bonus skin-crawly points for alice as a late boss.
#4: toy store palace held by a wealthy 'black widow' who has a lock on (x) industry (a corner of the porn industry, maybe?) (people are to be bought and played with). kiddy-looking and/or uglier/demonic shadows with curse and insta-kill skills galore.
#5: zoo palace held by a medical professional who serves the higher class and keeps them supplied in opiates and sundry (a carefully cultivated collection of specimens, kept on display and out of real power), featuring a great many animal shadows. #6: buddhist temple palace held by the head of the komeito party (if the harm happens out of their sight, it didn't happen/peace is more important than responsibility). so many reflect skills. so many. also dormia, because why not.
#7: theater palace held by a spymaster (everything is a story to tell, reality is just as flexible and trivial as fiction). again, brain jack hell, with as many fairytale shadows as possible.
#8: wasteland/post-apocalyptic city palace held by a disillusioned diet member (this country can no longer be saved, why bother), with rugged-looking shadows that resist Too Fucking Much.
#9: island paradise palace held by Old Money (everything is good and nothing hurts; lower classes?? what lower classes??). aquatic-themed shadows.
#10: train palace held by some government official (there's only one true path and people are silly to think there's any other way). a wide assortment of shadows (it's a 'one size fits all' solution, after all).

- 99% sure that if the PT went after the people in power, they'd end up with a looot of legislator's pins and police badges and military medals as treasures lmao
- insp: akira collapsed on his bed in his old house, a shoe box half-full of those badges of power under the bed, morgana pawing at his face and worriedly suggesting that he should go to school soon, and his mother wondering if moving to tokyo will pull her "hikikomori" son out of his shell a bit.
- it does not. akira makes a token effort, but only shows up to class three times in the next six months. by that time, even igor and lavenza are worried about him, despite the numbers (treasures stolen and palaces cleared) he keeps pulling for them.
- etc etc this has a happy ending somehow. maybe haru or makoto make a breakthrough? maybe makoto sends akira's homework with haru and eventually a connection is born.
- (include makoto&ann friendship somehow. somehow. this irrational hatred of mine Will Not Stand.)
- the thing that pushes akira out of the cycle is that the velvet room is starting to look terribly palace-like. ("this is my prison")
- if turned human, morgana would look like a 12-year-old version of akira with blue eyes.
- the 'cleaner' in shido's palace doesn't actually have a palace in his own. he's done a lot of bad shit and enabled even more, and he has no illusions/guilt/justifications/distortions about it. this makes him heeeeella hard to deal with for the PT.
