okay like i know it’s possible to ‘tightly pin up’ your own hair, but it would be easier and quicker for someone who can see the back of your head to do it, and also we know numair is fussy with hair, and and and—i'm just saying it would be really cute if he'd been the one to pin up her hair okay.

ideas: daine getting pregnant out of wedlock, wondering about whether to keep the baby or not, remembering when she was like 6 or 7 and asking her mother why she didn't terminate daine (since, to bby!daine's view, she's the source of most of her mother's troubles) and sarra's horrified/stricken reaction, and wondering if she keeps the baby, if the baby would one day ask her why she didn't just terminate it

...honestly i'm pretty pro-choice and thinking about people who do want/care about babies to the point of getting attached to them even as undeveloped fetuses is fascinating. daine would be even more fascinating because of her history as a bastard and how much that affects her life (weird kid born under dubious circumstances to a maneater/slut who was irresponsible and absent-minded that daine was doing the family hunting and keeping an eye on her mother before she even hit her teens, keeping the name that marks her as a fatherless and thus keeping herself open to the mockery). like!! the sheer amount of trauma being pregnant would dig up is crazy?? i love it.

.......reading over old stuff like 'man i was NOT nearly as good as i thought i was' is such a weird feeling.

on one hand: yay! improvement!
on the other hand: akhgsdhgcbv why did i think that was good why did i SAY that was good i wanna diiiie
on the other other hand: honestly my ego has remained roughly the same level of stable and robust for the past 3-4? years or so, so will i look back on my writing now and think 'oh god whyyyyyy' in a year?
on the other other other hand: i'm already thinking 'auhgfajytdvxbvc' at the stuff i wrote last september. (...or actually like legit anything before 'all night i'll riot with you', which was when i started to realize that yes, my otp is indeed allowed to be In Love and no, i'm not breaking any laws in writing them tight as hell, and could from there actually, like, develop their dynamic with significantly less guilt)

i think my math went wrong somewhere, but idk where and i'm too tired to add all that up again.

SO YEAH this is literally everything i've written or tried to write this year thus far. i'm pretty proud of the turnout, all told—especially ex-babysitter au, which i wish i could shove in everyone's faces as my magnum opus forever but am sadly lacking the vivre and gumption to actually do that—but between life being... life and burnout being burnout, i think i need to declare another break after finishing lockdown infiltration. a shorter one this time (maybe a month?), but this is i think the third time in a row that i've skipped a wednesday between posting chapters, and that's solely down to me being just. exhausted.

partially down to family drama, partially down to friend drama, partially down to the not-always-pleasant effects of therapy, partially down to cooking, partially just down to "i have been writing a copious amount of words for a very long time now", but it's been a lot.

i wish i'd started sorting my projects like this earlier in the year lol. this is so much cleaner.

i'm kind of sort of considering posting my completely abandoned projects with annotations on what i think of it and why i dropped it (and/or dvd-style commentaries on my completed fics?) if anyone would be interested in those. thoughts?

(this post needs a conclusion, but it's my bedtime. time for the sleeps, not for puzzling over wordage. gnight.)
