ngl modern aus are just so much goddamn fun because of all the different ways there are to translate the characters and their relationships and affiliations and professions.

are daine and miri classmates? clubmates? roommates? is onua a veterinarian? owner of a horse ranch? does numair live in a cozy suburban upper middle class home or a ritzy penthouse? what does the pirate's swoop look like? are people with the gift tech wizards or just whoever?

so many questions and they're all so much fun to think about!!
